The Station is open Sunday afternoons, static display- non steaming.

* Note for visitors: Upon arrival we will offer you the Gift Aid price for admission to a steam day event. By choosing to pay the Gift Aid admission prices we are able to reclaim 25% tax on the whole amount paid which goes towards maintaining the Pumping Station for future generations to enjoy. Please note you are free to choose the standard admission if you wish, just let us know when you come to pay.

The majority of the site is accessible for all but due to the historical nature of the Engine House
access is via a small flight of steps leading to the porch and main door;
there are also internal stairs for reaching the upper floors.
LEARNING LOFT Activities 2016
May1st/2nd May Day celebrations featuring, on Monday 2nd, the crowning of the May Queen. Dolphin Morris teams will be bringing in May with traditional forms of dancing. Activities include the making of a Green Man and a flower garland.
May 29th/30th In keeping with the World War I theme, of which re-enactors will be on site, we will be decorating Edwardian fans and making a tram.
July 9th/10th To celebrate the 150th birthday of Beatrix Potter we will have activities connected to this famous authoress featuring Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddleduck to name two.
August 28th/29th Teddy Bears Picnic, enjoy seeing our friendly bears playing in the woods. Bring your own bear and take part in our many bear themed activities.
September 24th/25th Pipes at Papplewick. Follow the Pied Piper, in the Learning Loft and take part in themed activities.
October 22nd/23rd 1940’s Weekend. Take part in our Halloween activities in the Learning Loft.
December 10th/11th See Santa in his Grotto, collect a present (a small charge applies) and take part in Christmas themed activities in the Learning Loft.

Private conducted tours
The Pumping Station may be opened for private conducted tours,
arrangements can be made for most days of the week, daytime or evenings.
Civil Wedding Ceremonies
The station has a licence for the use of the site for Civil Wedding ceremonies.
Weddings can place in the Pumping Engine Station or rooms in the Superintendents House.
